Moving from Express

Move your books from Express to Panya, free

You can move from Express Accounting to Panya yourself, for free. Export the chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, products, the trial balance, outstanding receivables and payables, and stock on hand from Express to Excel or CSV, import each file into Panya as it is, then let the migration check confirm that debits equal credits and that receivables, payables and stock agree with their control accounts.

  • Free on every plan
  • Express's files as they are
  • The same menus and document codes
  • A migration check you can print

How the move works

Express's files, as they are

Panya finds the row of column names, skips the report's titles, page headers, subtotals and totals, and reads Express's Thai column names. Excel, CSV and the TIS-620 text that Express writes all work.

Eight imports, in order

The chart of accounts, customers, suppliers and products first; then the trial balance, the open invoices and bills, and the opening stock, each as at the day before your opening date.

A migration check

One printable page shows whether the trial balance balances, opening balance equity is zero, and receivables, payables and stock agree with their control accounts, with the counts to compare with Express's reports.

The conventions you know

The same numbered menus 1 to 9, the document prefixes IV, HS, SR, RE, RR, HP, GR, PS and JV with the Buddhist year and month, the price types 2, 1 and 0, and keyboard-first entry with Enter and F9.

What works differently

Documents are numbered when posted; a posted document is cancelled and entered again rather than edited; openings are dated on the opening date; and the year-end close keeps every document.

Help when you want it

The imports are free on every plan. For messy data or a long history, Panya's team can do the migration for you as a paid service.

Print the four balance reports (1 to 4) as at the day before your opening date, for example 31/12/2568. In Panya, the Moving from Express card on 5 Accounting → Opening balances names each report and opens its import.

Questions, answered

Is moving from Express free?

Yes. The imports and the migration check are free on every plan, and so is exporting your data. Only a migration done for you by Panya's team is a paid service.

Do I have to convert Express's files?

No. Export each list or report from Express to Excel, or print it to a CSV file, and import it as it is: Panya reads Express's titles, page headers, totals and Thai column names, in UTF-8 or TIS-620.

Does Panya bring over my past transactions?

The imports bring the balances at your opening date: the trial balance, each open invoice and bill, and the stock on hand. Past transactions stay in Express; for a long history, Panya's team can help as a paid service.

Will Express users find Panya familiar?

Mostly. The menus are numbered the same way, from 1 Purchasing to 9 HR, documents carry the same prefixes with the Buddhist year and month, and a day's invoices can be entered from the keyboard with Enter and F9.

How do I know the migration is right?

Run the migration check. It passes when the trial balance balances, opening balance equity is zero, and receivables, payables and stock agree with their control accounts; print it and keep it with your Express reports.
